Meet Fiona
our Specialist Orthodontist

Fiona has travelled a long road since primary school in Dunedin. She studied for her dental degree at Bristol University, England and then completed her three-year Master’s Degree in Orthodontics, with an academic scholarship at the University of Otago.

She became a Specialist Orthodontist in 1999. She practiced as an orthodontist in Auckland and England both in the hospital and private practice. In 2004 Fiona set up practice in New Lynn where she has since looked after over 6000 local patients. She actively participates in continuing professional development and runs the North Shore and West Auckland Orthodontist Peer group. This allows her to stay current on the latest technology and treatments. Fiona is a member of the Auckland Dental Association, New Zealand Dental Association, New Zealand Association of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists and Wish for a Smile Trust – the charitable arm of the NZAO.

Fiona is the mother of Isobel and Rory and is married to Arend. She loves the outdoors especially tramping and multi-sport. Reading, the arts, gardening and caring for the hens are other spare time activities.

Meet Donna
our Specialist Orthodontist

Donna has been in dentistry and specialist orthodontic private practice since 1997. After completing her undergraduate dental training at the University of Otago she spent 6 years in private and hospital practice as a general dentist.

She worked in Auckland, London and Melbourne before commencing her postgraduate specialist studies at the University of Melbourne with a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics in 2005. Following this, Donna returned to London working in private specialist practice before settling down in New Lynn in 2009.

Donna is a member of the Auckland Dental Association, New Zealand Dental Association, New Zealand Association of Orthodontists, Australian Society of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists, Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in Orthodontics and Wish for a Smile Trust – the charitable arm of the NZAO.

Donna has two young girls and is married to husband Peter. She speaks Cantonese and her passions outside of orthodontics are cooking, running and travelling.

Meet Kaye
our Orthodontic Auxiliary

Kaye graduated as a Dental Therapist in 1981 and worked in school dental clinics for 8 years before relocating to Auckland in 1988.

She moved into orthodontics, working as an orthodontic auxiliary for several years before leaving to start a family. Before joining the Turner Lim team, Kaye enjoyed working as a territory manager for two dental supply companies. After spending time at home raising her family, Kaye returned to orthodontics in 2010, finally joining Turner Lim in 2013.

Kaye lives with her husband, 3 teenage children and their exuberant dog, Jessie, in Mt Eden. In her spare time she enjoys relaxing and creating all sorts of handcrafts.

Nicole, Turner Lim Orthodontic Assistant

Meet Nicole
our Orthodontic Assistant

Christchurch born Nicole began working as an orthodontic assistant for Turner Lim after she moved to Auckland from Queenstown in 2017. Before joining the Turner Lim team, Nicole spent 2 years in Germany working as an early childhood teacher for a Montessori Kindergarten.

Upon returning to New Zealand, Nicole practised beauty therapy, owning her own salon, until a change of career focus led her to the dental industry. Nicole thrives on the fast pace of the orthodontic clinic and with her cheery smile and persona, can calm the most nervous patient.

In her spare time, Nicole enjoys the outdoors, practising yoga and is an advocate for healthy sustainable living.

Meet Elena
our Dental Assistant

Elena was born and raised in Russia where she graduated from Novosibirsk University as a Dentist in 2012. She moved to London where she studied English and worked as a receptionist at a Dental Practice and in the hospitality industry during this time.

Elena came to New Zealand initially for a holiday and fell in love with the lifestyle so decided to settle here in 2017 (she has relatives that live on the shore and have been in NZ for almost 20 years). Elena worked as a dental assistant for a local temping agency, with a dentist in Albany and she has been with us since September 2018.

She lives locally with her cat called ‘Reisling’ (after Elena’s favourite wine) and 2 chickens called ‘Mrs Woo and Dolly’. Elena loves travelling around the country, cooking and can often be found out on the harbour at the weekend boating.

Meet Silvana
our Dental Assistant

Silvana moved to Auckland with her husband, Leo and 2 children from Argentina in 2016. She graduated from the University of Tucuman with a degree as a Dentist in 1999 and as an Orthodontist from the University of Buenos Aires in 2004.

Silvana’s has had the wonderful opportunity to abroad with her family in both Spain and Italy with her husband’s posting at foreign Universities. Leo is a researcher at the University of Auckland in environmental science currently studying climate change.

Their children, Julieta and Marco attend Hobsonville Point Primary School and are enjoying the kiwi way of life. The family loves to go camping and are regular cyclists around Auckland. Although able to make their beloved ‘dulce de leche’ (a caramel sauce popular in South American countries) they were delighted to discover you can buy it at supermarkets from Barkers of Geraldine.

Meet Masha
our Dental Assistant

Masha is from the Ukraine and moved to the Netherlands when she was 22 years old. She has worked for a general dental practice with a number of dental specialists before moving to an Orthodontic Clinic.

Masha joined our team in August 2019 as an assistant coming from an orthodontic practice in Remuera. She is currently supporting the clinical staff and is training to be an orthodontic auxiliary.

Masha and her family moved to New Zealand to follow her husband’s family. Husband Chris works at Auckland Airport in IT and her sons, David and Reuben attend Avondale College.

Masha loves the mountainous terrain of NZ coming from such a flat landscape and Taranaki is her absolute favourite spot. She enjoys anything to do without door pursuits in particular, ski-ing, tramping and cycling.

Meet Emma
our Treatment

Emma grew up out west and currently lives in Glendene with her husband Chris and 2 boys, Connor and Toby. She joined our team in 2018 starting her career in the dental industry after leaving school and qualified as a Dental Assistant with a practice in Glen Eden.

She then moved on to Avondale Dental and spent the majority of her working life working with Dr Konings in Mt Roskill who has since retired.

Emma loves to travel although has not the time or funds now she has 2 children! Preferring to spend her limited free time at the gym she is also committed to Auckland parks with her boisterous boys. She has perfected the art of baking cakes and making slices, sadly with no time for gardening.

Meet Jo
our Office Manager
& Treatment Coordinator

Jo has 22 years experience working in the dental industry qualifying as a clinical assistant through the Christchurch Polytechnic. Whilst fulfilling her passion of travelling she enjoyed working for specialist dental practices in Sydney and London.

Now working predominately at the front office she enjoys the pace and dynamics of orthodontics. She loves being part of the journey of creating great smiles with her role as Treatment Coordinator along with making it financially achievable for families.

Jo & her husband are originally from Christchurch and now call Auckland home. She enjoys travelling, biking, general outdoor pursuits and is learning to love the garden – because someone has got to do it!



Meet Lou
our Front Desk Administrator
& Treatment Coordinator

Lou joined the Turner Lim team in late 2016 and brings with her 18 years of dental experience and knowledge. She has spent the last 9 years in the Specialist Orthodontic field, thoroughly enjoying meeting new patients and helping create beautiful smiles.

When she’s not busy with her latest renovation project, Lou likes to spend her spare time swimming, kayaking or walking the family dog along one of the many sunny North Shore beaches, where she lives with her partner and three children.

Meet Susi
our Administrator
& Treatment Coordinator

Susi started working in the dental industry in Germany in 1995 where she completed a Dental Chairside Apprenticeship. She moved to New Zealand as an Au Pair in 2000 and after a one year break from the dental industry she returned as a Chairside Assistant and later a Practice Manager for an Auckland Dental Practice.

She moved into a dental sales role with an Australian based company in 2006 where she stayed until her maternity leave. Two children and some admin work later she started with us at Turner Lim in early 2015. She is a part of the administrative and marketing team as well as a Treatment Coordinator during new patient consultations.

Susi and her family love their house overlooking the bush in the Waitakere Ranges and spend a lot of time exploring beaches and bushwalks. Being German, her children are bilingual and are always looking forward to their next visit to their Mum’s home country and to spending time with their German grandparents.

Meet Becky
our Business
& Finance Manager

Becky takes care of everything financial. She has been in the dental field since 1991 working as a dental assistant in Auckland and Palmerston North.

She joined the Turner Lim team in 2011, bringing with her a vast range of experience, cheerfulness and dedication to all aspects of Turner Lim which is appreciated by all.

Becky loves spending time with her husband and two daughters (who’s beautiful smiles are thanks to the expert team at Turner Lim). She also enjoys reading, walking, travelling and swimming.
